Kenya Kamwangi AA
Kamwangi Coffee Factory is one of three coffee factories run by New Ngariama Cooperative Society based in Kirinyaga County. Located on the slopes of Mount Kenya the area itself is world renowned for its amazing coffee quality.
The New Ngariama Coop’s long term goal is to help increase coffee production through initiatives such as; training, seminars, access to equipment and providing the most up to date information on sustainable farming.
PROCESS
Cherries are hand sorted before the pulp is removed and the coffee is fermented under close shade. After fermentation, the coffees are washed and then taken to drying tables to be sun dried over 12-20 days depending on weather conditions.
